Since 2018, in collaboration with a vast network of partners and volunteers, we have directly supported and trained over 130,000 individuals in developing critical psychological skills for transforming their lives, their communities, and their future. With your support, we can continue to build programs that promote resilience, well-being, and collective liberation.

Why support Brio?
50% of the world’s population is expected to experience poor mental health at some point in their lives. This issue is exacerbated by systemic injustice and violence, which results in a significantly higher impact on marginalized communities, where the compounding effects of mental health conditions could be devastating. Here’s how we’re addressing this critical issue at Brio:
Evidence-based approach
Our approach is based on a thoroughly researched therapeutic framework known as Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT), supported by over 1,000 studies involving diverse populations. ACT reduces risk and effectively addresses existing mental health conditions.
Community-led
Each of our programs is designed around the lived experience, values, and aspirations of the community. The programs are locally initiated, co-created and owned by our partners, who have a deep insight into their specific contexts and systems.
Scalable programs
All programs are built to outlast our involvement, fostering systemic change and sustainable partnerships with government and civil society through deep community engagement, stakeholder collaboration, ‘train the trainer’ initiatives and more.

How do we cultivate mental health and wellbeing?
We partner with social change organizations dedicated to serving marginalized groups and dismantling systems of injustice. Together, we co-create mental health and wellbeing programs across areas like education, youth leadership, gender equity, and workforce development.
The initiatives are designed to break down the legacy of internalized and external oppression, foster healing and psychological flexibility, and inspire values-driven action for collective freedom.
